Athlete Story – Viktor Långsved
Viktor started his CrossFit journey 7 years ago, via ice-hockey. At that time, he played serious ice hockey and trained CrossFit on the side to enhance his performance on the rink – he trained to increase his strength, power, agility and explosiveness.
For fun, he signed up for a local CrossFit competition and it went really well. Since then, he never looked back and dedicated 100% of his training to CrossFit! Viktor then went on and qualified for Regionals five times. He had a blast travelling and competing all over the world. He says these were some precious memories related to CrossFit – to be able to meet and connect in person with fellow competitors and enjoy freakishly awesome hospitality from the CrossFit community, no matter where he goes. He hopes this year there will be more in-person events/competition.
Today, Viktor is a box owner together with his partner Marcus at CrossfitPrestanda. The box just recently celebrated its 5 successful years. Before venturing out and opening his own box, he was working in a CrossFit box for 2 years, and also travelled to America, the birthplace of CrossFit, to gain industry insights.
Now, his day involves coaching and training athletes from all walks of life and different kinds of sports. He coaches professional ice-hockey players that play in the NHL. (Fun fact: Gavle has a vast amount of NHL players coming from this town of 75,000 population.) Of course, not to mention, he is taking great care of his 2 lovely dogs every day, Otto & Peg. Viktor is very humbled and honored to be part of this growing sport and the fact that Sweden is taking a lot of pride in CrossFit. He hopes the sport will continue to grow and he is very excited for the future of CrossFit with the new management under Eric Roza.
He likes Crossfeet socks because they not only look great, but they offer amazing functions too. He says, “I wear them both for training and at home, they feel awesome on the feet! They are really soft but still the feet don’t get too warm in them.” His favourite ones are those from the Retro collection.
